They may also contain non- verbal materials such as diagrams, graphs, or illustrations. • If you develop your general know- ledge in those common topic areas, it will be very helpful for you in dealing with your actual test. • The topics in the IELTS Reading test may include science and technology, shopping, sport, traffic, tourism, travelling, media, culture, crime and punishment, advertising, food and health, education, work, celebrities, the environment, urbanisation, history, astronomy, etc.
