The accuracy and fairness of teacher-made reading comprehension tests are essential in evaluating students' language proficiency. However, concerns about the validity and reliability of teacher-made tests raise questions regarding their effectiveness in assessing reading comprehension. Given these concerns, this study investigates the validity and reliability of such tests, aiming to identify potential improvements for more accurate and effective assessment. This study, conducted from November 1, 2024, to February 23, 2025, applies a quantitative research design, involving 79 students who responded to the questionnaire, while test scores were analyzed from a total of 88 students across three exam periods and utilizing statistical methods, specifically Cronbach's alpha, descriptive statistics to analyze test data, and Likert scale survey responses from test-takers. The findings indicate that while the tests demonstrated moderate reliability, certain aspects required refinement to enhance their validity. The study provides insights into improving the design and assessment of reading comprehension tests to ensure more accurate and fair evaluations.
